Wonder Creates Life With No Rules

“Wonder, connected with a principle of rational curiosity, is the source of all knowledge and discovery.”

-Samuel Horsley

I agree with Samuel Horsley because without wonder what would the world be like today? Wonder pushed an unaccountable amount of people to explore, discovery, inquire knowledge and so much more. It even pushed you and myself to do the things that we are doing today. Just the simple fact of attending college, wonder motivated you to go into that field of study or even continue to purse that passion that you or I have. Behind every brilliant scientist, explorer, inventor or even college professor was once a wonder, that turned into curiosity, then an idea to unfold itself into a discovery or gained knowledge that made a difference. I, myself have many wonders that eager me to become curious. When I become curious I reach out into the world to find out or figure out. Perhaps me not becoming the next genius, I still find myself feeding my brain something that I did not know of before. All things are learned from curiosity. Without it, there is nothing you would never know anything new.

“Life is a moderately good play with a badly written third act.”

-Truman Capote

Needless to say I do believe God has written out our lives and destiny. Truman Capote does have a point though. I believe the first act is composed of birth and childhood. The second act consists of being an adolescent and a young adulthood. The third act is primarily made up of your adulthood and elder years. I think each “act” has its own highs and lows where it isn’t really good or bad. Every second of ones life is precious. Plays don’t always have a good beginning or end. Some plays are better than others. Regardless of the beginning, Script writers always know the ending outcome even before the curtains open. Just like God already knows what our ending is going to be turned out to be. It is all in the perspective of the person experiencing it or looking at it from the outside in. Some may believe the third act is the best part because you’re more than likely retired, relaxing and enjoying life. Some people may not even get a chance to live to get to the third act of life. The third act in the play called Life is the closing scene full of emotion that is jaw dropping.

“You miss all the fun if you obey all the rules.”

-Katharine Hepburn

Katharine Hepburn is right, although rules are made for a reason. Some may say rules are made to be broken. Others may say rules are made for our safety. Sometimes you have to take some risk in order to really live life, otherwise you’re just a programmed robot. Robots don’t have a mind or sense to know what to do besides what they are told. I think this quote needs to have a neutral balance because you need to have fun in life and obey the rules. It isn’t worth having fun but getting in trouble, neither is just obeying the rules and not enjoying life. We, humans are not robots because we aren’t programmed. We are each our own living beings with our own free wills. We have the ability to make our own choices, whether that be to follow the rules or to not follow them.
